What I did was buy Nick's custom tensioner bearings. I'll report back how they look once I get them (I ordered them last week), but by all reports, everyone's been happy with Nick's products (http://www.nicksforzaferrari.com/).

To those who aren't aware, his have an easily removable bearing that is much cheaper/easier to replace each timing belt change. Lightness and the fact that it's aluminum and will "run cooler" are purported to be performance advantages but I'm not sure I buy that. But the cost thing is what I bought them for.

SOME TENSIONERS ARE REBUILDABLE!
The new SKF tensioners I recently bought had rings with a lip pressed into the sleeve to hold the bearings in.

It looks like you can just press the two bearings & one of the rings out all together, then just press the ring & new bearings back in.

Take a good look at how your tensioners are made. Maybe all you need are 4 bearings & someone w/an arbor press...
(Can you say SAVE $$$$$)

The actul bearing used in the center of the tensioner is industry standard #3205, available widely. The outer roller piece will have to be removed, (an easy machine shop job)and the new pressed in. They use a rolled over, or crimped lip to retain. Trim this lip off, press R&R the bearing and install the new with Locktight or similar

SKF: 617546 A/HT22
My local industrial supply folks tell me that it is a $32 bearing, but they cannot supply it, as its' distribution is limited to auto parts suppliers....

Regards,
David
