I have a saratoga top for my QV, they are great , plenty of light, more headroom and they are much lighter weight, mine came with a very nice leather bag to store it in behind the seats... |

Yoshi Put some silicone on the rubber seals around where the top goes. This will stop the squeaking. |

I have the Saratoda roof for my 85 308GTS. I was told only 100 were made. Though I enjoy almost the same "openess" with the roof on and it is easy to maintain, it gives squeaky sounds when driving. But, I still love it. |

Frank...I found the ad that you inquired about for the folding soft tops sold back in the late 80's and early 90's. It was called the Carbrella Sport Top. The ad states "Solves Hard Top Hassles! Protect your car interior during temporary parking. Weighs less than 4 lbs., waterproof, UV-stable, with hidden attaching system for security. Fits Ferrari, Porsche, etc. with T-Top, Targa or Sport Roof. Price $124.95" This ad was in Road & Track - March 1990 (pg. 153). Apparently their location has changed since the ad from Lakewood, CO to the following: Carbrella Motoring Accessories 1170 S. Sheridan Blvd. Unit B Denver, CO 80232 Phone: 800-346-3251 Fax: 303-922-4825 Think I might give them a call and see if they still manufacture it.

That was the name, Frank -- Saratoga -- knew it started with an "S". Thanks! I have a few copies of those magazines at home from those decades...I'll check them tonight and see if I can find the ad. for the folding tops. Yep, I remember seeing those as well. |

If I remember correctly it was Saratoga that was the manufaacturer. I also recall back in the late 80's early 90's seeing a foldup targa for the 911 and the 308/328. I believe it was advertised in the back of R&T, C&D and Motor Trend. Does anyone remember this or know if they are still manufactured somewhere? |

I've seen a 2 or 3 e-bay listings of those as well over the past few months. Apparently, they were manufactured years ago, but the name of the company escapes me (Sun*** something or another ?). Came very close to bidding on one around the holidays, but the bid quickly climbed into the $1200.00 range -- Yikes! Too bad there aren't any aftermarket suppliers out there today who are manufacturing them (albeit, at a more reasonable price) -- at least, not that I am aware of. |

A couple of months ago someone placed a "smoked" glass targa top for the 1982-85 308 on ebay. Has anyone come across such an animal and if so where ? |
