I am not sure about injector. I use the capsules that screw in line with your manifold and gauge hoses and then force it in with liquid refrigerant.Do you have gauges&manifold?

Thank You for the info. I have seen a kit forsale that comes with the glasses, UV light, etc. I will go ahead and get that. I will get a bottle of leak detector too if it doesn't come with the kit. There is a special tool (gun) that injects the leak detector. Does anyone know if it comes with the kit or will I have to order it?

The biggest problem with Freon leaks is that they are temperature sensative and may only leak at a certain temperature if it is a small leak. Some leaks are a bleed through the hoses where as the entire hose is one leak like a sponge.

I've used the H10A for 30 years, it's sensitivity is 0.4 oz per year. Manufactured by TIF, GE & Johnson Controls. New from W.W. Grainger about $250.00, Find a old one and return it to Grainger for service & modification. TIF offers flat-rate service on all H10's.

Richelson
The unit I have is a TIF automatic Halogen Leak Detector, model TIFXP-1.
It is good, but I do not know if it is good enough to pick up a can a year. UV would.

It is a small leak. Maybe one can a year or so. Please let me know the part # and brand. Thanks.

I just bought a hand held one and it works great. It has found several leaks in friends' AC systems and in my 308. If you want the part number I can get it for you. If you have a very small leak (1 can a season or so), then the uv light system works very well

What have many been using for A/C leak detectors? I have been looking into one. How well do the hand held units work. This is what I am interested in. Does this work as effectively as the UV light kits?
