Dave, Dont know if rotors turned before but was told they were shot. Checkbook has been opened! But this did fix the problem- brakes feel MUCH better |

Dan, Had those rear rotors already been "turned" already? Vastly cheaper than new ones. Open up the checkbook. Dave |

FYI- Took car to dealer and they said the problem was rear rotors- need to be replaced. I dont know why they said they looked fine 5 months ago when I had fronts replaced. I'll post if this didnt fix the problem |

The best way to eliminate any brake rotor runout is by using an on the car brake lathe. This will true the rotor with the hub and creates the best driveable situation. |

Check your tie rods for excessive play. I know you said your suspension feels tight but you never know. My 308 did the same thing after new rotors and I traced the problem to the tie rods even though everything felt fine otherwise. I fixed them and the problem disappeared. Just a thought. |

Mine is an '88 so it does not have ABS and the car feels great until I brake. My other thought is to have the rear rotors re-looked at. I was told they were ok when the fronts were replaced, but maybe they are not ok. |

Does it feel more like a problem with the ABS system, or more of a suspension/tire issue? |

I dont think its gaining/losing traction because of bumps. It stops very well. I'd like to think this is occuring because the front end is compressed during braking and has no travel left as it really takes fairly hard braking at greater than 60 miles/hr to feel any shuttering. Just routine driving doesnt cause this. This may have been present for a long time and just didnt notice it, but I'd like to know if its normal as I've never owned an exotic before. |

Is it the car or is it gaining and loosing traction from the bumps in the road? I would tend to think this would be the case if it's good on smooth pavement. |

My 328 shutters some upon hard braking at relatively high speeds on less than perfect roads. This occured before and after replacing rotors. The suspension feels tight as a drum and the car tracks straight. The car doesnt pull at all under braking. Is this normal given the stiffness of the car? The Ferrari dealer told me braking is more rough than on a softly sprung car. Or should there be no shuttering at all? If the road is real smooth it doesnt happen. Thank you for your responses, Dan |
