I keep an eye open for fuel leaks, maybe not an issue with the FI but it sure is on my carb 308. Fan belts, fluid leaks and listen for unusual noises. Thats all I do. |

Welcome to the "My prior car was a G3 RX-7 but now I have a Ferrari" club (mine is a 1982 308 GTSi). We are most likely the charter members. Steve Schroeder |

I would look at the cam belts and pulleys since the outer guides on the plastic pulleys, if so equipped, can break off and allow the belt to run off the pulleys. |

Doesn't hurt to bleed the coolant system every few weeks at the radiator IMO (on those cars that have that configuration) -- if it turns out that you never find any air entrapment then you can go to a longer schedule with more confidence. |

I have just recently bought my first Ferrari (1984 308 GTSi) and have marvelled at both the simplicity and complexity of the car (prior car was a G3 RX7). Any advice on what to look for on my weekly Saturday maintenance check - I check the obvious - Tire pressure, oil levels, looking underneath for leaks etc... Any advice would be welcomed by this Ferrari Rookie. |
