Paul-if its not one of the one's near the brake booster, it could be from the main relay panel in the cockpit-have someone sit in the car when you connect up. By the way don't connect your battery backwards-Tee Hee. Roger B.

Thanks Roger, its just that the relay sound is so clear when I touch the negative terminal to the post. It energizes a relay somewhere in that general area and it sounds low down from the battery well area under the tire platform. I was just out ther as well to verify Im not imagining it.

Paul, I just finished redoing the entire underside of my '80 308 and there are no relays that your speaking of below the spare tire well unless its behind the cover for the a/c and heater stuff. I just went out to the garage and checked mine(the cover is still off) and there are 2 relays mounted together next to the power brake booster. Maybe thats what your hearing. Roger B.

When I connect or disconnect my battery (which is everyday) I hear a relay that sounds like its below the spare tire well. I cant see a relay being needed for the clock and thats the only draw when the key is off. What is this relay for? I havent tried to stick my head down in the battery hole to see it, just wondered if anyone knows. Knowing a relay is energized at all times really makes me want to disconnect it every night so I dont have a car-b-que a 3AM.
