Alex -- The "stock" 308 wheel offsets are about +11 mm so if you measure the offsets on the 348 wheels that you have (or the offset values might be shown in cast letters on the inside surface of the spokes) you can do a subtraction and get an idea of what ballpark the spacer thicknesses need to be in (since you're also going with wider wheels you may need to tweak things from this number to maintain both inside and outside clearance for the tire -to- coachwork and/or suspension). (Unfortunately) you'll need longer wheel bolts too so this pushes the cost up. You might try giving these guys a shout: http://www.u12buy.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=Ferrari&Category_Code=Wheels (I have no experience with them as a customer so I cant really give them a recommendation, but the subject matter seems right.) |

I posted a similar question regarding fitment of slightly oversize tires for my 348, and found also that the body of knowledge was slim at best, no one seems to know anything other than OEM factory specs. I found my answer by calling Barry at Speedline/SAC wheels. His number is 954-846-9234, extension 202. He gave me quite a bit of info on what works, and what does not. I will add, however, that I began with an idea to buy tires that fit the stock 17" rims in 20 mm wider widths, slightly lower profile, and ended up buying a whole new set of 18" magnesium speedline wheels. (I am a sucker for trick stuff) The old fitment was 215/50-17 in front, and 255/45-17 in rear. Now I am going to 235/40-18 with one inch wider width wheel in front and 285/35-18 with an inch wider in the rear. The 348 desperately needs wider rear track, per the Serie Speciale, so I now can achiev a wider rear track out back and slightly wider up front. Good luck! |

I purchased a set of wheels off of a 348ts to put on my 1980 308GTSi. The fronts are 17x7.5 and the rears are 17x9. I talked with a few people before I purchased them, and a couple of them assured me that they would bolt right on. Quite a few others didn't really know, but they had seen other 308's running these wheels. Well, I tried them on, and found out that the offset is way off. It looks like I might need a 2 1/2 or 3 inch spacer! Has anyone adapted 348ts wheels on their 308? If so, what needs to be done? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!! |
