Thanks for the explanation. Should the air con system run in both cases or is the A/E position meant to deliver ambient air frim outside with no cooling ? Also I have found that the switch if differant depending on whether it is for a R or LHD. Can you tell me what the differance is ? |

Eamon - the difference between A/E and A/C is the first brings in "E"xternal air and the second recirculates ("C"losed-loop) air. |

Wouldn't it be nice to be in Italy this time of year? The whole country practically shuts down so people can go on vacation! Only in Italia! Good luck with the switch. |

Thanks Joseph, I called them this am and they said that the part was in stock at the factory, but the factory is now closed until september ! For some reason they list a differant part # depending on whether it is for a right or left hand drive. The part # for the RHD switch is 61131300 and the cost is $230.00 |

The other thing I was wondering is whether there is any differance between selecting the A/E or the A/C button on the control when the car is running ? I does not seem to make any differance on my car, the air con come on in both cases. When dismantling the switch I noticed only two wires (one of which is an earth) and the vacume(?) control connection block. As a long shot is it possible to obtain replacements the four plates contained within the switch ? Two of mine are broken. I have left out of the picture the bottom part of the switch as I have kept them in the car so as to operate the demisting.
