Just one thing though when you drive it, at anything over 6000 revs the oil pressure should be between 5.5 and 6.5 bar i.e. above the mid point.

Be sure to test drive it before buying and drive it hard to see if it is a clean car. If there is anything wrong with the car it should let you know when you drive it.

That's correct. On any dry sump engine such as a 348 you must get the oil up to operating temp. to get an accurate reading. And every Ferrari I have had including my current 348 reads very low oil preasure at idle.

oil is checked on a 348 when hot, after running, pull the stick and that is the true level. Oil pressure is listed at 3000 rpm in the owners manual. It may well read low at hot idle.

My 328 will read nothing on the dip stick when cold. If I pull the stick out to open the passage (there is a seal), then push it back in, I get the reading. When I first got the car and noticed this, I almost soiled my trousers thinking I drove it with little to no oil in it.

Oil pressure drops fairly low at idle when hot. Mine drops to about 35? psi. I think 85 is the middlepoint. It drops to just under the first mark which would be 42.5, assuming linearity. I think this is normal.
