Good deal on the assembly tilt.

I think it should but I used the Permatex with great results. It is like a thick paste, adheres to the theads and doesn't harden.

By the way Magoo,

Will Hylomar work just as well for the studs?

Magoo

I am getting ready to pull out the studs tonight. Can you clarify what you mean by the tranny should be lower than the engine as you lower [what assembly] to install it [in the car?]

You mean the engine/tranny combo has to tilt back [therefore the tranny is lower than the engine] before it goes into the engine bay? I do have an engine balancer to accomplish that task. It is attached at 4 places and has a big screw to tilt the engine forward or back. That was what I was trying to test this morning when the hook gave in.

Mitchell, Do it. It may save you trouble later on and you have it in your hand now. Also , You probably know this but the trans. should be lower than the engine, when on the hook, as you lower the assembly to install it.

I had logistical problems arranging for a borrowed cherry picker this weekend so my engine is not going in until next week. So I have a few days to do whatever I might have missed.

Any last checks and suggestions?

So far, Magoo has suggested removing the engine mounting studs and permatex it. Any other last wishes?
