Frank--do know the # , email, or website address for GT Car Parts? $800 sure sounds better than $1900!
Thanks.

I bought a 805A unit from GT CAR Parts for 700 or 800 new. Bill Kelly Vince on here kept losing his front bank when we were driving sat. I had some electrical contact cleaner in my car and we cleaned the wires on the coil for the front bank and he was fine after that. I hope yours is a simple and cheap fix like that.

Drew and Ken--thank you so much for the input. I'll contact your source, Drew, and may be interested in purchasing one of yours, Ken, if need be. WWC hasn't looked at my car yet , so I'll let you know as soon as I know. I pray it's not that!

Bill:

The dealers want about $1,900 each for the 805A digiplex units. That is why so many people switch to a direct ignition system. I think that I may have an extra set if you need them. I purchased them when I got my car thinking that I may need them one day. There is a mechanic near me who will rebuild the digiplex unit for several hundred dollars if you decide to go that route.

I believe Dennis McCann in OH does this. I think what they do is put new electronics in the old Digiplex shell you supply. His number is 614/855-1003 and web site is www.allferrariparts.com. I think its worth a try.

I purchased a starter solenoid from them for a Boxer after I couldn't get it at Rutlands. They were very reasonable. Good luck.

Hi, Ken--yup, that's what I mean. I don't know if I need one yet, but am scouting out prices in case I do. I wound up trucking my car to Wide World of Cars, after giving up on trying to find out what kept causing my rear bank to not get spark--very frustrating. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Bill:

Are you referring to the Digiplex units?

Does anyone know the approximate cost of the electronic control unit /computer for a 308? It seems that someone on Chat knew of a rebuild service somewhere.
