Was that car blue with white interior, missing one of the front fenders? |

You probably already know this fabulous 330 American restoration site www.tomyang.com/cars/ferrari.html but it is worth the reference for anyone else interested in restoring early-60s front-engine V-12s. I have seen 250 and 330 engines selling for around $15-20k recently in FML. Also saw one not long ago on eBay, but did not catch the final bid. Bob |

Run an Ad in the Ferrari Market Letter, Prancing Horse, Hemmings Motor News and Forzo that you are looking for the original engine for your chassis number. It is likely out there somewhere waiting to be reunited. If you can't find it in a year or so, you can just buy another 330 engine somewhere for $20k or so. |

There's a 330 America here in Dallas that I may be interested in restoring. From just a quick phone call the car is a roller with much body and pre-paint work done. I think the main piece missing is the engine. The seller told me that the 330 engine always overheated anyway and you wouldn't want one, even if you could find one. Before jumping into this, what are my options and potential costs for an engine and everything else if I do it myself. I don't necessarily want a concours car, but as original looking as possible and also drivable. Thanks, rob |
