I have the normal sport exhaust with the 4 end tips...kind of strange though it says competition only on the side of it. |

Hey guys sorry it is taking so long to get the sound clip posted I am having a b*tch of a time getting a good quality one. If anyone is interested in hearing the car in person just fire me off and email and I will be more than happy to call you and chat about the install process, what a great guy Tino at Mensi is and all the rest of that jazz! As soon as I get my better microphone tomorrow I will gather another sound clip for you all and hopefully have a nice one for you! |

John, Just wanted to ask: You have installed the "normal" sport exhaust from Tubi which is the one with four end tips and has a net weight of 13.8 kg, or not? Tubi has another more extreme exhaust which has only two end tips and is even louder. I can´t buy this one because it is definitely not street legal in Germany (which should be the same in the US). Strangely this more extreme "only tube silencer" is a lot cheaper than the normal "silencer" from tubi. Again you get less although you pay more. Pretty annoying. Anyway I haven´t got a chance because I drive my 348 mostly on the street and not so often on the track. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Hey guys I have had a little trouble getting the damn wav file off the laptop and on to the desktop tonight so that I can upload it all to you...I will for sure have it to you all by tomorrow night this time. I dont want to step on Tino from Mensi toes at all by putting up the price I paid on here but if you want feel free to email me and I will let you know. Check out this site to see what the 348 sounded like before http://rotundschnell.de/Sounds.htm great sound clips. With the Tubi and no cats I would say the closest sounding car on that page is the F40 or 355 challenge. |

John, I'm also anxious to hear your car. I'm debating the TUBI and test pipes, as my CAT's are starting to rattle. What did Mensi charge for the TUBI? |

John, Would really like to deinstall the cats but won´t do that because the taxes for the car per year would immediately double due to the emissions! Will rather go for sport cats from tubi. Manu said that they are pretty effective as well (Though quite expensive and not as much power gain than to erase the cats!). Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. Really looking forward to your sound clip!!! |

Hey guys I just finished the install of the Tubi and took the beast for a fast spin. Let me tell you without the cats and the Tubi hooked up man this is one mean son of a bit*h! It sounds so much more like what a real Ferrari should sound like!! I will be posting the sounds clips soon! I have to do a little work to get both exhaust tips to fit correctly under the stock bumper cause after my drive home tonight they decided to shift and the left one rested right against the bumper...not a good idea considering how hot it was!! Anyway does anyone one here have experience with getting these babies to fit just perfect? If so drop me a line. Jens get a Tubi the sounds without the cats is so SO SO mcuh meaner than a ASNA! I will hurry as best as I can to get you the sound clips...just dont want to burn a hole in the bumper so I have to be careful. |

I know its pretty nuts that the damn stock exhaust is so much more than a Tubi. I should have my sound clips to you by hopefully monday at the latest. It is my birthday today so I am going to be out of town for the weekend till Sunday then come back and install the exhaust. I will post them as soon as I get the chance so you can hear the beautiful sounds. To me K&N is the best filter in the world. For the little more flow it might be possible to get from the Tubi or Koenig I dont think that it will be worth what you would pay in the difference of price. If you want save your money and fabricate a carbon fiber intake system for your car so that your airflow coming in from outside isnt going over the rough intake tubing in the current car. |

By the way. Did you know that the standard exhaust system provided for the 348 by Ferrari is more expensive than a Tubi system! How strange: You are paying more to get less. |

John, Would be great if you could post the sound clips. It´s exactly what I have been searching for. Really looking forward to this to get a clue how exactly a 348 sounds with that system. John and Randolph, Just wanted to know whether tubi or König air filters might be even more effective than K&N. They are really more expensive. If you guys know that K&N is better I will certaintly go for them. Thanks for the helpful replies. To be honest I was tending to buy the König but now I will wait some longer to hear Johns car. Jens, i'll go with the tubi might cost a bit more but your getting the best. I have them on both of my cars and sounds fantastic and for air filters you cant go wrong with K&N |

The ANSA was dynoed cause it was available to slap on the car to see what it could do. A Tubi produces around the same hp on the above system but I dont have offical dyno slips so I dont want to quote numbers. I went with the Tubi to finally install on my car because I personally feel it sounds better than the ANSA with the cats removed. |

Jens, Give me some time this weekend I am getting my Tubi from Mensi as Rob stated above and will give you a few sound clips of the 348 before and after hopefully by the middle of next week. The Koenig system is awesome on a TR. Adam Goldman on this board has installed one and just loves it. I have heard that on a 348 they arent quite as nice though. Another question I have for you is why in the hell are you getting a Koenig or Tubi air filter instead of a K&N? You are paying more and getting less. Go K&N the whole way. By the way here is the setup I dynoed on my car last year. 1990 348ts K&N air filter, Koenig test pipes, and a ANSA sport exhaust 343bhp. Well this maybe debated by a few people on the board I have the slips for both pulls and was within 0.7 on both. |

Check out our "Sponsors" link above for Mensi, that is a reseller here in America for Tubi. I guess you probably aren't in America, so I don't know who your local distributors are. I don't know much about Konig, except their modified cars. Tubi seems to be the aftermarket exhaust of choice here. |

After considering different options for that sport exhaust topic only two are left now. Either I choose a König sport exhaust with König sport air filters or I go for a Tubi with Tubi air filters.I haven´t heard both systems in a 348 in real life. The König package is about 500 Euro cheaper and they have offered me to send me the exhaust and let it be installed. If the sound should not suit me I am alllowed to send it back without paying anything (Very fair offer in my opinion! This is not possible with Tubi). On the other hand Tubi has a very good reputation and I would be able to install some sport cats from them after sometime to further increase power with my car. So after all a very difficult decision for me. I guess the power gain should be the same with both systems so the sound is going to be the deciding factor. Any help or experiences with both exhausts would be greatly apreciated... Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. Sorry to begin with that kind of topic again and again. Reminds me of floor mats, wax or religious beliefs... |
