2 mechanics told me it could have been highly stressed at Lime Rock cus at the top of the uphill the rear gets light & I light up the tires for a half second at 75 mph OR it could have been a manufacturing defect. Who knows. oh well, u Play u gotta pay Gonna run a wing & slicks at LRP in July, hopefully this wont happen again |

William, sorry to hear about your car. I remember talking to you about broken shafts when we were at Summit Point earlier this month. However, I believe you were telling me about broken axles, not transmission input or output shafts. Best of luck with your repairs. |

Sucks, time to start putting the harvester tow vehicle to work! At least if it would have snapped onthe track there would have been some glory to it! Curious, what kind of oil you using in the tranny if you are racing it. and William don't rule out a defectively made shaft, you might get it x-rayed for manufacturing (stress) defects, although I am sure racing voids the warranty for an item like that. |

I was on my way up to Watkins Glen Thursday night, got off an exit & lost power to the wheels. I thought it was the clutch & I had to be flatbedded home. Today my mechanic told me the main shaft in the trans had snapped?!?!?! Luckily I have a spare but I cant believe it snapped with only 30,000 miles on the car. I bought the car with about 19,000 miles & now I wonder if the last owner was drag racing it. I drive it hard on the track but I never abuse the trans doing burnouts etc WTF, my mechanic never heard of this, any1 else ?? |
