Hans, My 78 308 GT4 has a white box on the left and a black box on the right. I can only guess that a previous owner might have changed it on a prior "meltdown". |

Hi Here are (not great quaility) photos of the LH fuse block from a 1976 Euro 308GT4. Taken after I repaired the bad connection on the 3 bridged connections. LH is white, RH is black. But to be sure, go by the 3 bridged connections on LH 3 fuses, this is only on the LH block. RH block has different bridged connections.

I have one black and one white on my 308. Left is white and right is black if you are facing them. They are different. I have never seen one with the same colored blocks before but maybe they did that year. |

Sorry Hans, I've never heard them described by colour before. If you mean the housing colour itself (the part that holds the fuses and terminals), I have a white (left box) and a black (right box). The left one is original and the right one was replaced by a P.O. Both boxes have common terminals joined behind the box, not in the wiring harness itself (and the wiring schematic shows this to be correct). |

Yeah, you guessed it. One of the terminals (A/C) had a melt-down. I think I can repair it, but I'm looking into a replacement. The problem: Parts suppliers insist that I should have one black and one white fuse box. Mine are both white. They say that other than color, there are some interconnections. Mine are simple, no interconnections. For example, the 1st three terminals on the left box are *not* interconnected, but are made common via the wiring harness. The parts guys insist the box was changed, but P/O (and original owner) said no, and the wiring harness looks very factory. So, do I have a different animal than others? Is there maybe a difference in model years? (Mine's a 1975) Which box should I buy - black or white? It's the left one, but no one seems to know which color it should be. Talked to T.Rutlands, Dennis McCann, and GT Car Parts. No one can shed light on the mystery. |
