348's use european purolator. I have not looked or found an American equivelent. AS to standpipes they all leak oil out. I have tried baldwins, frams, ufi's, OEM like purolator on 348. If you let these cars sit the oil goes back to the pan. Try it for yourself.

Does anyone know the F part number for 348, 355, or 360 oil filters? I'm curious because the recall notice for the UFI filters (111782 replaced by 191993) doesn't mention those models:

yet another F oil filter type hasn't really come up in the discussion. Can someone explain?

The 348 came with either a Fiamm or Delco battery. I replaced mine with an Optima for about $150.00.

Oil filter you can use a Fram or Baldwin instead of UFI (probably go with Baldwin, better reputation than Fram)... but a proper oil filter will be around $20 no matter where you get them because of the required standpipe and checkvalve (important!). Oil you can get anywhere, and actually have changed anywhere, even a "jiffy lube" or "express oilchange" -- I just bring my own oil and filter and watch them do the work... they're generally extra careful and appreciate the kind of car it is. Spark plugs, etc you can get at any auto parts store like AutoZone.

If you want one-stop shopping but discounted instead of going to the dealership, contact one of the several F-Parts suppliers around. As a first choice, I usually call T. Rutlands (they advertise in Prancing Horse and Forza) at 800-638-1444. Ted, Chris, Margarett there are great.

But for the kind of routine stuff you're talking about, you'll probably find your Ferrari dealer is reasonable. Mine even gives a 10% discount to Ferrari List/Chat members.

I recently needed to change the battery on my car and was quoted $533 for a Ferrari and Bosch battery. I got an AC Delco instead for $67 with installation. Talk about a rip-off on "Ferrari" parts.

Since my car will be due for its annual service (60,000Km) odometer reading 52,000 km. soon, can anyone recommend alternative parts eg. oil, air, fuel filters, spark plugs etc. I dont want to pay silly money for parts that I will have to replace in one year, particularly where the replacement parts will not harm the car in any way.
