well, I found the leak. 1) oil leaking from the distributor seal (5-8) pooling down on the clutch housing, seeping into the seam (without hylomar) and down to the drain port of the clutch housing (look like, talks like, walks like a rear main seal, but it is not) 2. Tranny fluid leaking out the clutch shaft seal, being spun around onto the inside wall of the bell housing. Fixed both this weekend, but let's see how the dist seal holds.

I guess the other possibility is the rear main seal. |

The possibilities are the input shaft seal and the transfer ports. Either way, the bellhousing has to come off to correct it. I have seen the transfer ports leak, especially the large one because of the thin side wall closest to the flywheel. I used new orings and silicone during assembly. |

Any body has an oil leak inside the bell housing and it is NOT coming from the tranny tunnel (properly sealed with the 3 orings). Could it be gear oil from the transfer case working past what ever seal on the inside of the shaft and ending up at the end of the clutch shaft then being spun off by centrifugal force? I know that is a thin theory, but ... |
