Peter -- there's a write-up about this 308 headlight mod on the FCA-NW site by a couple of the FerrariList regulars at:

http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/308headlights.html

There may be (many?) other possible "schemes" (like Steve mentioned) -- I've not looked into this subject in detail myself, but I thought this may be a good reference for you (a lot of other good/useful stuff on the FCA-NW site too!)

Peter I just went through this after trying to get the info from others. The way I did it was to put a switch in line with the fuse that controls the relay for the headlight pods. I have a 77 308 GTB so you need to look at your fuse block for the rignt fuse. I just unpluged the spade connector on the bottom of the fuse holder and made a jumper wire that had a switch in it that I bought at radio shack. So when you keep the switch on in the normal mode the lights work like normal. When you turn the switch on and then turn on your lights the pods stay down. Here is the catch though in order for the pods to go up you need to turn off the lights and put the new switch in normal position and turn the lights back on. Done. Steve

I am not sure about the 308, but in the TR there is a parking light switch in the middle console.

I never used it though.

Driving late afternoon/early evening I would like to turn on the parking & tail lights without the headlight pods popping up. Can this be achieved ?
