They are the platinum plugs. I believe they only make one version of the 4 points. Kragen and Pep boys carry them

Matthew

Which model of Bosch 4 point plugs did you use? Maybe it'll work on my car too.

I had the same problem on my 78. I changed the spark plugs to the bosch 4 point ones and they made a significant on the dust. Down side is they are $5.99 a pop.

I have the same problem on my 1985 308 QV. It is very annoying.

Mitchell is correct. Also clean out around your taillights. It settles in around the lights and looks like a shadow at first then you really notice it later. Very hard to remove at that point.

That is the unburnt hydrocarbon left over from the combustion inside of your car. It is particularly noticeable on carburetor cars because combustion is not as complete as later model with decent fuel injection. On the fuel injected cars like the 82 model where there is not really a feedback loop to control the combustion, it is also there.

Just clean it off everytime you wash your car, it is much easier on the paint.

Mine does the same thing (78 308). I think it's normal, at least that's what I've been told.

I notice every time I drive my 82 308 GTSI that I get this gritty, brown, black residue or dust on the back bumper and the rear panel of the car. Even if I just drive it a couple miles. Is that normal on 308's? I had new cats put in a couple months ago and was told by the mechanic that I might want to replace the muffler at some time. How do I now if it's bad or going bad? Car has 84,000 miles on it? Thanks for your input.
