Thanks for the compliments guys. One of the reasons I bought this particular 308 was the color, I love the blue. It has just turned 46K miles, they appear original as the mountain of receipts backs it up. This bumper mod is so easy to do and IMHO really makes the car look more like PF intended. I would like to go to euro bumpers at some point if I keep the car. Im getting Daytona dreams though. |

Some people drill another hole and use a sheet metal screw to hold the shock in place. I did nothing. I needed a mallet to move it in. and would need more than inertia to move it back out. I worked it back a bit at a time going from one side to the other and there it stays. It is better than the euro protection wise im sure. |

I really want to swap to the (much) lighter euro bumpers. I just can't shake the fear that I am going to tap something one day and will need those extra couple of inches of protection. Good luck with yours. Looks great. |

The re-located bumpers really do make a positive addition. After the gas is released and the bumper is "rubber malletized" back what holds it in place? |

Ron, you either have to drill a hole in the front shocks to relaese the gas or make a bracket to replace the shocks. You do it on car with the bumper and grille in place. 10 minute job. Use a rubber mallet to move the bumper in. |

Guys, all of you have fantastic looking cars! I must agree, they look better without the huge US bumpers sticking out.... I have a Euro style on my front, and at some point I will replace the rear with a Euro style as well.... The one advantage that they have over the stock bumper is a weight savings.... Terry, you car looks awesome in blue! |

Hello guys, nice job on the bumpers. So you simply compressed the bumper shocks (off the car), and they stay there? Rear also? I've got a '79 GTB that I'd like to convert to Euro- bumpers, but this is an interesting (cheaper) alternative... |

It is the original color, called Dino Blue Metallic. The car was painted about 10 years ago. The shop that did it really did go the extra mile and did a good job. It does have a few tiny dings if you know where to look, but overall its a pretty clean car. |

I compressed the shocks until the bumper studs touched the innerstructure/ rad support. It wont go in any further unless I shorten the studs. Its not worth the trouble. At the time of the pics, I wasnt thinking of the bumpers so I didnt get a good shot but thats all I have. |
