Thanks Ed: I guess that I will just leave it alone, until such time that it becomes a problem. My only thought was to rid the engine bay of unneccesary plumbing, thus making it look cleaner, and giving better access to other parts. |

The AIR system rarely causes a performance problem and takes almost no power away from the engine, especially on a TR. The noise you hear is normal and causes no power loss. This system usually only operates when the engine is cold. |

Just curious. Can this system be safely removed, without affecting the engine performance? The holes would be properly plugged, of course. When my car starts cold, after a minute, or so, I could hear a pulsating type rattle sound comming from the air filter cannister.....putting my hand over it will stop the sound. As the engine warms up it goes away. The engine runs great. I live in an area where I don't have to take emissions. It seems that this could be just another system that can add unnecessary aggravation in finding the source of a bad running engine. |
