Hey Guys, I don't have those problems with my cover on my 79 308 GTS because I have the 2 spring loaded buttons that hold it up and it was still there after the cows came home. |

I too a more technical approach to the falling panel syndrome. I attached a spring, like an accelerator spring, to a small hole I drilled in the lower right side of the panel and attached the other end of the spring to something else ,I don't remember what, above where the hole was drilled. On the lower left side I drilled a hole through the center of the plastic velcro and into the center of the receiving velcro pad and used a decorative black trim screw to hold the panel up. You cannot see either attachment and that SOB will be there till the cows come home. That way also, when it catches fire I can easily pull down the right spring loaded side and throw a bucket of water on it, or use my expensive fire extinguisher if the flames are too bad. I was bored that day too. |

Paul and Herb are the best and all the guys and gals here are more than willing to go out of their way to help...it really blows teh popular myth that owners of exotic cars are stuck-up and selfish...I think we got more love here than the VW or Saturn clubs put together! (and more pain than the MG and Triumph clubs!) |

Hey Paul, that was really a cool thing to do. A perfect example of why I love this site so much. We are here to help each other out. Very cool. Can someone stick a 288GTO in the mail for me? |

Paul, thank you thank you for sending me the velcro... a true ferrari brother! Now my 308 looks proper w/o all those relays and fuses (the old style no less) showing bare for all to gawk at. |

Dina, Whay am I not thinking...You are right, it is a safety feature, when your fuse panel mets down and ignites, the front cover easily drops away for you to battle thee fire... Once again, ferrari leads the way with engineering excellence and pioneering safety. (tic) |

Yes they did test, with the fuse covers off so they could get at the smouldering fuses & relays with the extinguisher quickly. Dina |

Thanks, everyone, the only solution I came up with so far was to date only very leggy women whose legs were long enough to hold the panel in place with their knees. In the long run, I think Dina's method is more cost effective...I am learning the "hidden" cost of owning a Ferrari! Paul I will contact you via e-mail...many thhx. I have also tried jamming a shim in between the right wall and the cover works for a little while. Who designed this stuff? Didn't they test drive these cars and realize the cover keeps falling down? |

My fuse cover has a large screw through the middle attaching it between the 2 fuse holders. This is not the right way to do it! I have placed a small Scuderia Ferrari badge over the screw which looks great, but the damage has been done. Stay with the velcro trick. I have seen the stronger lock velcro similar to whats on the car now at 'Eagle'. Also you could try and reposition the existing velcro locks on the car so the 2 sides contact each other better. Love - Dina |

Anyone have a sure fire way of keeping teh curved fuse cover panel in place, the weird velcro that Ferrari provides doesn't do the trick...I am about to drive a screw through it into the bulkhead once and for all but thought I would pick others brains for alternative solutions. |
