If I was doing this job in my garage on my back, I would use my floor jack to support the engine and tilt the front or rear removing both mounts at the same time. If you cant get to the nuts on the brackets, undo the large bolt through the frame into the mount and then unbolt the 2 bolts/nuts that hold the mount to the bracket. Raise the engine and remove the mount(puck) to gain access to the 4 studs that retain the bracket. You could double nut the studs to remove them and reseal with a thread sealer of some sort, nothing too specific. |

How do you do that--ie, slip the puck out of the way? Or--how do you remove the mount altogether? Also, in removing the mounts one at a time, does one need to prop the engine up on a stand at the point of the missing mount? |

I believe the mount itself block access to two of the 4 nuts that hold the bracket to the case. You have to slip the 'puck', if you will, out of the way to get at all the nuts. That was the case with my 79 anyway. |

In fixing leaky motor mounts on an '85 308, is it necessary to remove the entire mount or can each stud be extracted one-by-one in order to apply permaflex onto the threads? If it is nececssary, how does one go about doing this? Thanks in advance for any tips /advice. |
