Verel, great idea. I'll have a look at mine to see if they're perfect. I could be interested in set #2.

Jeff,
If you want to send me one, I'll reproduce 2 of them in clear urethane for $100. I'll eat the cost of the mold as I'll recoupe it when I make & sell a few more. You can store your glass lenses & just use them for special occasions.

I'll be using clear Alumilite urethane. It's suggested for tail light lense reproduction at the end of the following url:

http://www.alumilite.com/default.cfm?Action=view&ID=4

Pay me when you receive the reproduced lenses & are satisfied with them. If you don't like the reproduced lenses, then send them back along with your complaints. I'll endevor to remedy them. If I'm not successful then there's no cost to you.

Thanks for the reply Ric,

I thought of that my only concern was the heat from the lamps causing yellowing or eventual flaking?

I recieved some resins for repairing various chips and cracks in windshieds as well as pit fillers, these are used by the Novus type systems for rock chip repairs, they are designed to be optically clear and never yellow, I think you could put them in a small touch up sprayer to give a even fill in the small pits and renew the gloss of the glass

On my TR, I shot them with a coat of clear acrylic paint (Eastwood brand: http://www.eastwoodco.com/). Although not new & perfect, they look 85% better than before.

My lenses had quite a few small nicks and they look like they were blasted with sand

Ferrari wanted 840.00 each for them since you can only buy the complete unit and after market suppliers 470.00 each

So it seems you cant buy just the lenses anywhere?

My next step was to buy 40.00 in sand disks and try and remove the pits but after a while I started to cut through on some of the edges to the inner layer, I since used some glass resin for rock chip and crack repair and it sealed the damaged corners up, so it seems I wont be able to remove the last bit of pits

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance
