Is it a hard fix or is it a dealer thing? |

Thanks Bob, I was worried about the clutch failing because of it. I'll check it out later. M |

Sounds like the spring thats take up the play between the thrust bearing and control lever has broken. A quick to check it to remove the lift rear tire and remove the tie rod between the soft pedal mechanism and the clutch operating lever. If you can move the lever freely the spring has broken, if it's hard to move then the spring is in place and I would recheck the alignment clutch control mechanism (soft-pedal) The alignment of unit need to be exact. The instructions are in your owners manual. If you don't find any thing and the clutch opention is OK I would not go in to it just for a click. Even if you found that the spring is broken on the thrust ring in side, I would put it on my thing to do list for now Bob. |

If it is the pressureplate Matt, I dont think I would loose too much sleep over it. If you cant hear it over the engine and dont feel it in the pedal everytime you declutch then forget about it. where are the BB pics? Send me some direct if you like. |

No gum but a week old crushed tic-tac. The sound comes when the clutch is halfway, about the same point it engages. Would a clutch plate make a click sound when it is not spinning? |

Mine doesnt click but a frayed cable could be the cause. I would check underneath while someone else works the clutch to locate the source. Could even be the release bearing hanging up on the support. Maybe even the bubblegum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. |
