Thanks for the help. I will keep everyone informed if mine is something different. I spoke to Giovanni a little while ago, and he said that when it skips into neutral, it is only doing it occassionally after the car is warmed up. It is not sending a failure message to the computer , which he says that most of the time it will do if there is air in the lines. He has unplugged the computer to let it reset and then is going to try it tomorrow. He did not mention the actuators or sensors, so I am going to forward this info to him. At least the AC switch sounds simple. He also found two small leaks in the exhaust where the Tubi is welded in. He thinks it can be spot welded, but I bet they will have to drop the exhaust out of the car.Hopefully I will have it by spring. |

Dr. John Scottsdale Ferrari tells me that the AC button sticking/breaking etc is a common problem. Should be fixed under warranty. A very inexpensive part. |

You might want to have the lines bled first. If the problem persist, have the dealer check the main seal for leaks (this was the culprit in my car). F1 actuators may also need to be recentered. Of course, bad or misaligned clutch sensor might also be the problem. |

I have recently purchased a 2000 360 F1. It is at Gino Lanzini's in Dallas trying to get the shifting into neutral problem fixed so that I can get the extended warranty. They seem to believe that the line just needs to be bled. My AC button was also sticking on. That sounds like an easy replacement. Has bleeding the lines resoved most of the problems with everone else's F1? |

I should clarify that almost 10K miles was logged in a 12 months period since I took delivery of the car in April of 2001. I'm kinda behind schedule in that I was expecting to be over 15K miles by now. Oh well, I guess I have to drive it more often. |

Jeff, My 360 ran perfectly all last year when I logged almost 10K miles. The serious problem, like the missing shifts, started at around 12K miles (I'm over 13K miles now). I've never ran into the broken button problem on my car though. Luckily, my car's extended stays at the shop has been minimal compared to some others. |

Tako and Willis I have only 200 miles on my F1 and everything is perfect. THe F1 is a joy to use. But the real reason for this post is that my air conditioner STOP button broke. I took the car into Scottsdale Ferrari. They had the part in stock and took only 18 minutes to replace everything and got me back on the road. 18 minutes has to be a world record for a repair. I feel for you guys when your cars are in the shop for weeks at a time. |

Got the car back today. Basically, there were some leaks that contaminated the friction disc. It was replaced and everything was checked tested. Gotta love the warranty. The car is almost perfect now without the missed shifts. |

I just dropped the car off to the dealer. The gear dropping situation happened during the drive with the dealer. They suspect it's the actuator(s) gone out of center. |

The car ran perfectly for about a week. On Friday, it dropped just once. Yesterday, it was about 6 times and the problem seemed random. I made another run today to see what it's doing and I found that if I'm aggressive on the throttle with the revs building up quickly, the F1 works perfectly. Slow going in traffic or at more leisurely pace, the shifts will be dropped (but not all the time). It's starting to get a bit scary not knowing what the car would do next. I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow and hope they could take a look at the car soon. |

This is an issue all 360 owners on this board should monitor and report problems, fixes, etc., by year, Euro and U.S. I,for one, have 750 miles on my new 2002 U.S. Modena F-1 and have not experienced this problem. I was leery of F-1 at first, buy initial experience has been very positive at both low and high RPM. |

I have been experimenting verious stuff for a week. Now my car has no problem with shifting at high RPM but if I do it at low RPM such as 2500 or 3000, shift fails and goes to the Neutral. How about yours??? |

F1 failure here as well in my 360 - mine wouldn't come out of neutral. one of several reasons my 360 arriving in a few weeks is a traditional 6 speed! |

OK, I got the car back this morning and went on a drive for about an hour. The shifting problem seemed to be gone (so far). The dealer tried to replicate the problem on a test drive but the F1 system didn't drop to neutral for them. They checked the F1 system and found some air bubbles in the system. So the clutch was bled and the point of slip was reset. The car was then retested. I need a few days to drive it in varied conditions to determine if the problem is really gone. To be continued... |

It seems now my failure happens especially at low RPM..... I can reproduce the failure just by going on 30mph or so and repeat downshifting & upshifting. |

There was a problem with the (plastic) bracket that held the clutch position sensor in the early models. You may want to ask your dealer about that. They were wearing out and misaligning the sensor. It is mounted next to the T/O bearing, so the dealer would have to open the clutch housing to inspect this part I would think. I believe they fixed this problem in the later 360's. Sounds like a very dangerous problem, I would defiantly be hammering my dealer about it. 24/7 Just my 2 cents

My car just started to develop this problem. Seems pretty random. Sometimes it happens a couple of times on a drive and other times nothing happened. I'm getting new tires installed tomorrow and will see what the service manager have to say about this. I didn't get any error light when this happens. Did you?

Has anyone experienced this problem?? When I upshift or downshift, it suddenly goes to neutral. My dealer already tried to fixed it twice and it still happens!!! It's scary that it suddenly happens when you are slowing down to turn at the curve. I think my dealer replaced computer and also clutch sensor already. I don't know if this problem can be fixed or not Thanks. |
