I wouldn't have used a dull knife. I would have pulled them off, very slowly, with a pair of robogrips.

If that were my car, I would be able to show you a jar of formaldehyde with two sets of testicles, that were removed with a dull knife.

That is exactly why I never leave my car to have work done, unless I know and completely trust the person, and/or know that they would/could fix any damage incurred while in their posession.

Wonder why he lost the case in court?

I think if it happened to me the ex manager and his mechanic acomplice would have been, lets just say 'shown the error of their ways' in how to feel a responsibility for their actions, just quiting the job would not have cleared them in my book.

Its very unfortunate that some issues just can't be entrusted to judges to sort.

Oops here we go, I can feel the wrathe of the pacifists amongst you!

I know there are three 4-valve/carb Countach's in Canada. One of them was for sale here in Vancouver last year (and still may be for sale...). Blue over tan leather/blue carpets. They really do exist. And this car wasn't some shady-deal grey market car, this had all of the emissions junk on it...

Thanks for all your help guy's...your the best.
Well the story goes like this...A guy who was doing all the store to store computer link-ups for a company here in Canada called Canadian Tire, bought himself a Lamborghini as a present to himself. He drove the car from Toronto to Monteral and on the way there it blew the a/c belt. Not a big deal right? So he decides to take it to a Canadian tire to have the a/c belt replaced, why he did this was anybody's guess maybe he felt that since he worked for the company his car would be treated with care. Anyway, while the car was there waiting for the belt, the service manager and the head mechanic decide to take the car for a joy ride after work.
Needless to say they missed a shift at high rpms and gernaded the engine. The service manager called the customer(after towing the car back to the shop!!) and said "your car seems to be leaking oil maybe you sould have it towed somewere and have it looked at" The next day the service manager and the head mechanic quit. The guy who owned the car took Canadian tire to court to try and get them to pay for the damage but he lost. So he sold the car for $30,000 with the blowen engine 4 years ago. And now I have the car in my shop and we have to put it right, because a dealer friend of ours bought the car as it was. Now he has sold the car but the customer wants the car running by the middle of November(yikes) So there you have it in a nut shell...Oh ya..the engine needs all new valves..three con rods,4 pistons, all 3 timming chains, crank shaft ,the combustion chambers in the head have to repaired and it needs and a/c belt:0)

Burtoni is who I was thinking of, thanks Dave. I typed it and then was like no, that can't be, Burton snowboards with an "i" on the end.

I would think you could weld up the block and rebuild the motor that you have. usually, the rods go through the crankcase wall, an area that is just a thickness of aluminum (no water jackets. you would need three new connecting rods at the least. find out why there was oil starvation...

Try GT Carparts in Pheonix. They have a fair bit of Lambo stuff as well as Ferrari parts.

Three con rods, impressive mess to say the least. The only thing I can think of is calling Classic Coach 1-908-352-3939, Frank might know where to come across something like this. There is also that guy that does only Lambos, his last name begins with a "B" I think, William on here (Countachxx) has a lambo and would know who I am talking about. I know it's vague, but a start hopefully.

I know this is mainly a Ferrari tech room, but I thought you guys could help me out.
I have an 86 Countach at my shop that needs an engine(3 con rods out the side of the block) does anybody kow of anybody that might have a good used one or know of a new one for sale? It's a 4 valve car euro spec with carbs. Owner says it's on of six cars in north America. (I doubt it) Please let me know.
