Ric, Nice pics and a good tightenting method. I noticed you have the axle out of the car. I had a hell of a time trying to put them on while in the car because of the lack of space to work visegrips and a lever just as you have shown. So I got them as tight as I could and used a large diameter hose clamp around the orig clamp and screwed it down tightly. I quarantee that held it in place. No problems at all. You just don't have the room to work when it is in the car. Left side does seem easier that the right side though. BRGDS,

Here's a series of pictures I made to illustrate how to use the OEM CV boot clamps. I've serviced many 308s using this method and never had a problem.

You basically use the flat part of the screwdriver as a lever point to pull the clamp tight using the channel locks. You have to get the clamps tight enough that the boot won't move on the shaft or CV flange.
