BTW, all the proper foam peices are in my front bonnet area, and appear to be in excellent shape, but knowing Ferrari quality, that doesn't necessarily mean they are really sealing well.

Mike, what we are talking about is a source of heat coming from under the dash and NOT from any of the heater vents...

Had this problem too. Turns out that the valve controlled by the heat levers on the console was not closing all the way. Had to adjust the cable about a half inch. Try turning the valve(under the front hood) by hand. You may find it is not closing all the way when actuated by the cable.

There is a passage way through the firewall on the passenger side of the 3xx series cars...

The simplest way to avoid this hot draft is to make sure the two foam strips on the front bonnet, which seal the rear radiator area and vents from the spare tire area, are in good shape...
They are missing in most of the 308's I have seen...

That's exactly what I thought which is why I have been keeping my eye out for a piece of scrap foam at work that would work well in sealing up between the hood and the spare tire tub. I think originally there was a piece of foam on the hood, when closed it would seal the air and essentially duct the radiator air up through the hood louvres, but my foam is missing.

I never noticed this problem with my 308, but certainly have it with the 328. I believe the source is from the front bonnet, probably radiator heat that is trapped under there and is finding a way through the firewall into the passeger compartment....Previous cursory glances have found nothing amiss....

I too have noticed this steady stream of hot air coming from under the dash of the 308, and blowing out on my feet essentially. I have done a couple quick attempts to remedy the problem, but have yet to really attack it. It can become almost unbareable on those 100 degree summer days with essentially what feels like a heater blowing when at highway speeds. It would be interesting to see if someone finds the problem, it not when it gets hot again and my car is on the road I will get angry enough at it to find the problem and fix it.

Yeah, mine does it too, for sure. But, I don't think it's the main heat source. Definitly from under the dash center.

Jeff, I am a former 308 GTS owner and now have a 328, I know exactly what you are talking about. Guys, even with all the controls off, the 328 seems to have a small amount of heat and (seemingly) air movement coming from under the dash, I think from near the instrument binacle. I have not had time to really look into it, but am thinking it may just be a leak of heated air coming from in front of the forward fire wall. It is NOT from the floor....

The extra heat is nice when it's below 70 outside. It's really a much better winter car if you live in the South. I find that I am much cooler in my 328 with the top on (air off). Most of the heat comes over the windshield and straight over the open roof (like a convection oven). The shade helps a whole lot too. I found the leak in my air system as well. Now it blows almost too cold with no real effective temp control. The windshield rake is definitly a problem and can be greatly helped with a non-reflective "Dashmat" (also makes for glare-free driving). I think the major culprit is the water moving under the console to the raditor. I think I'm going to tint my windows too (new thread).

It is common as chasis coolant pipes run right underneath the middle of the car. It can tend to get hot.

I get hot air sometimes, not all the time, in the foot wells. The Radiator pipes run between the passenger and driver wells. Hot enough to heat the air but not blow like a fan. Do you notice this while driving, If so, I would say the air from the outside is mixing with the heated air inside. If it is while the car is sitting with the cooling fans on, There is something stuck open and the radiator fans are blowing the air. If they are off, Then something is open.
