Dan I don't know how to adjust angle of the window if that is what you are talking about. But if what you are asking, is how to adjust how far up the window can go this is what you do: 1: Remove two lower door pannels. The carpeted one covering the speeker and the one just above it. They are held on with plastic push-in fasteners that just pop out. How ever don't pull with too much force cause you could break the part of the fastener that is attached to the pannel. 2: Roll the window half way down or untill you can see the bottom of the glass and the brackets that the glass is attached too. The brackets are made out of metal and the ones in my car have a brass finish to them. 3: After you have found the brackets that the window is attached too, on that same bracket you will see a round rubber stop attached to the top of a screw facing the top of the door. These will be at the bottom part of the window. The rubber stop will be about the size of a nickle and about half an inch thick. There will be two of these one on either side of the door where the glass is fastened to the brackets that connect to the slides for the window to move up and down on. 3: Grab the rubber part of the stop and twist it to adjust how far in or out you want it to go. The farther out the stop is screwed the sooner the window will stop from the top. The farther in it is screwed the farther up the window will go. I suggest that you be careful with how much you adjust them, because if the glass goes too far up you risk breaking it. Another thing is test it with the door open first, then gently close the door (not completely) to see where the window hits. You don't want the window so far up that it doesn't fit under the lip of the top. 4: After you have the window adjusted to where you want, replace the the door pannels, and your done. Hope this helps. Happy adjusting. |

Dan, Warning...don't get your windows adjusted too tight in at the top. My 348 top doesn't leak, the seals are in good condition and the roof fit is TIGHT as a drum (in fact I'd say too tight), but my windows go in tight at the top, which I suspect has been the cause of both of my 'Outer Rear View Mirror mounting triangles' (plastic crappy parts) cracking! These plastic triangle parts are $170 + taxes each (115 + vat in the UK). Being unusual trim parts you'd prob only be able to obtain them through a F dealer. So just beware! Of course the other problem with getting the windows adjusted too far in is that you'll find the doors don't shut properly and flush. |

Well, I got the leak slowed down considerably. I put new Allen head bolts in the latches themselves. The holes from the old bolts had a lot of play. I had to slightly drill out the holes on the latch and the small bushings between the latch parts. I went with the next largest diameter bolt. When I was finished there was no slop in the latches. This allowed the top to pull down tighter. Now I just need to adjust the windows in at the top. It's like they are pulled out. Is this even possible? On my 328 I could adjust the windows. If anyone knows if this is possible please let me know. Thanks!

Matt, I think you may be thinking of the 308 series. They changed the top sealing method on the 79's and offerred an update kit for the previous 78's. I had it installed a couple years ago on my 78. It helped, but was not perfect. I wouldn't do it again...Just replacing the seals is probably the best course of action. And have them installed by a knowedgeable tech who knows the weaknesses in the top. |

Matt, I checked with Ferrari of Dallas and they said that there was no such service notice. The only thing that they do to fix the leaking targa top is replace all of the seals. The new seals are a little different, however, they hand fit all of them. Any idea who you talked to about the latch update? I appreciate the feedback!

Get a hard top. If they don't leak oil, they leak water. Joking aside. There is a factory fix for the 348 that was issued two years after the model was introducted. It changes the way the top connected to the car. It was a service notice, not a recall. Check with your local Ferrari Dealer. They are the only ones that can do this factory fix. |

Has anyone found a good cure for the leaking targa top on a 348? I know this is common, but I want to be different and not have a leaking targa top. Thanks in advance! |
