They are nuts with flat washer. 4 of them. 10mm socket will loosen them. You will just have to be careful when removing them.

Michael - it is a separate piece that is easily removed by removing several 10 mm screws. Your back will know when you are finished, as you will have to lean over the car to get to all the 10 mm screws, but it is not difficult. I have done it several times. You can find the screws by simply running your hand along the contact between this removable "shield" and the chassis.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ben,
When you raise the rear hood (engine cover), there is a small piece in the rear (right next to the rear plexiglass) that does not rise. It covers the alternator, compressor mainly. It is that piece i am talking about.

Can I ask for more specifics on which peices you are talking about? I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to...

Guys,
I would love to take off the smaller inner engine shield of my TR to clean it good (louvers, underneath etc). I also would like to take put the small painted curved piece to clean inside that groove as well. Is this two separate pieces and what is the correct way to take the piece(s) off?
Thanks as always.
Michael
