Just got off the phone with George. Let me say again, He was very nice and professional, especialy after he said he read my posts. For what ever reason his motors didnt work for me, and I feel I did the installation correct, he said he has done many with success. Which I believe him. He also agreed to refund my money. I give him two thumbs up and would do business with him again on other products he has. |

Yes it was George Evens. Dont get me wrong he is a nice guy, and probably has good intensions, but as far as his window motors they are crap. Im sure he probably knows it by now, non the less, he buys mass amounts of products at reduced rates, now needs to sell them. I just think they should be listed as replacement motors. listing them as a "stronger" replacement is 100%%%%%%%% wrong to consumers. Im not happy about spending 200$ on junky motors. My originals have more power then his. I also asked for my money back by e-mail, we will see what his comments are. |

Barney: There shouldn't be ANY resistors (or added resistance of any type) in the circuit. The problem (besides chewing gum for grease inside the motor) is that the switches and/or wire connectors will start showing resistance with age, due mostly to some surface corrosion. There is some evidence that the factory wiring may be a little light, also, adding undesirable resistance to the circuit. But no resistors. |

I heard from a friend that the correct fix is to install new wiring with different resistors. This is supposed to actually fix the slow window motors that so many people talk about. |

Ben is correct, the motors are no more powerful than the originals, perhaps not quite as strong. |

Ben, please list the vendor so none of us makes the same mistake. If he is selling crap he should be avoided and not get any of our business. |

Ben: Was the EBay vendor that you got the motors from George Evans? His stuff is generally quite good. I just bought an OEM Borg&Beck clutch from him for only $300. |

some of you may of had burned up units then making the black ones seem good. As for some of us who have good originals the black motors are useless, and far far far far from 20% more power. I admit its a great replacement for those who have burned up motors and dont want to pay for originals, but it should be listed that way. |

I purchased the same motors as Robert did (from gevans). They were black. Had them installed by my independent mechanic (sorry about that Robert ). They work great...windows go up and down quickly with no problems. Think I paid the same amount as Robert too. |

I had great luck with mine..I also bought mine on ebay from gevans (george evans). I paid 115.00 for both motors shipped to my door. The ones I recieved were very similar to the factory with I believe to be the same size guage wire. After replacing them and cleaning the tracks and greasing the rollers they seemed to work alot better than the originals. After I cleaned the switches they were really quick, both up and down. My old motors were really tired so I don'nt have nothing to compare it to, but I am happy with them now. |

Ben I've seen two types, the black ones and the aluminum color ones. Anyone have experience with the others or are they both crap? |

I hope you left negative feedback. I saw that listing and wondered myself. I also have some aftermarket motors, but I can't make that garantee. Will he give you back your cash? Dave ~Sodacoms~ www.sodacoms.com

On e-bay a guy is selling After market power window motors. They claim to be more torque and power then the originals, ect, ect, ect. So I thought wow cool about time, what a deal. I bought two at auction for about 200.00 with shipping. So they came in the mail, I looked them over and thought strange they have such small gauge wires compared to the old ones, non the less very happy to have a new product, I cleaned both gear boxes and used new grease. Cleaned the metal door wires, pulleys, contacts, ect. Added new felt to the window tracks. Class A job done. However I left the orignial motor in the drivers side, and the New motor was installed on the passanger side. I figured this would be a good test. When it was all said and done I found out quickly the new motors are crap. They should be advertised as 20% less power. While my drivers side(old motor) was working perfectly, not even slow, the passanger side(new motor) wouldnt go all the way up, and was slow. So I installed the original motor in the passanger side, it worked perfectly. I thought well the motor has to be bad. So I used the other new motor and put it in the drivers side, then that window also would not go up nicely. But the new motors were listest as 20% more power. Then I went back to read the ad. It said you will notice the new black window motors are bigger(I didnt I think they looked smaller), Then it said you will notice the wires are heavier gauge(I didnt noticed, they looked about 1/2 the size), You will noticed they are heavier(They felt about the same weight to me. Long story short, In my opinion the old Window motors are fine and these new motors on e-bay are junk. I will sell mine to any one who wants them at a cheap price. Millermon |
