Sounds great, Robert -- looking forward to the pics! And, if you need the "FERRARI" logo for it, shoot me an e-mail.

I will post an airbox that I am going to redo in a couple weeks. I will be powder coating it in the black wrinkle finish. As you know powder coating with its process will last forever and is very resistant to scratching and fading. An airbox will go somewhere between 125.-150. to do, labor and materials.

I did the black wrinkle paint route. I think it looks great. Not to concours standards, but really imporoved the looks. As for lettering, a gentleman on this site Eric Eiland sent me a file that I took to a sign maker. The sign maker made 8 of the FERRARI logos to the size I needed in about an hour for $8.00. I didn't have anything for UFI, but the airbox still looks 100% better than before.

Good luck and once again, Thanks to Eric!

I was thinking about photocopying the air box lid, then obtaining one of those T-Shirt silk screening kits from a hobby store. Then, after spraypainting the box with black wrinkle paint, apply the Ferrari UFI screen with proper acrylic laquer paint. Anybody try this?

Thanks guys.
I'm going to let Frank see it tomorrow. if he says it looks to bad, i;m going looking for silk screeners here in New Orleans.

In case I don't make it in time, frank has Volunteered to let me use his for the show.

I'm leaving him money in dumpser on a daily basis now.
I'll take a picture and post the finial product. later. i got to finish my roll in my camera.

I tackled the air plenumn by myself, but left the air box to the expensive Oregon boys.

If you can get me a template and or dimensions of the F-name and UFI filter data I can make it up as a water transfer decal rather inexpensively.

Spray wrinkle paint works really well but it has to be applied evenly as the amount you put on determines the amount it wrinkles. If you want it fast and perfect look in the yellow pages for a powder coat place in your area. This finish can be applied in this process and they will be responsible for their work. $350 is beyond theft for such a paint job. With regards to the printing on the lid, I am not totally sure what to do there however, if you know what the printing looks like, contact a print or sign shop that may be able to make a silkscreen for you. This should not cost more than $50 or so. Good luck.

Anyone have a better mouse trap than sending to Oregan and being charged $350.00. I've tried hand painting. It looks good but not as good as i would like. I've got to have it ready for next friday, November 1st. French Quarter track day and Concourso
Thanks
Kelly
