I'd suspect dirty contacts in your steering column mounted switch. After removing your steering wheel, the electrical contacts are exposed and can be cleaned with some contact cleaner. You will need a special socket to remove the steering wheel though.

I don't know the procedure, but this sounds like the imfamous "diode" problem. There are diodes wired near the headlight motors. If they fail, you get the problems you are describing. Hopefully someone here can post the procedure.

Welcome to Ferrari. It's par for the course.

It should be as follows

middle position, turn knob = parking and head lights on

knob turned and stalk up = parking only

knob turned and stalk down = highbeams

Check your fuses and relays.

Make sure that the correct amp is in. I had a similar problem. If fact, if you have the original fuses, the colored kind with the copper on the outside, I would change them. The amp settings are in the Owners manual.

In true, however dissapionting Italian style I seem to be having some intermitent headlight trouble with my baby. I rotate the headlight stalk forward and the parking lights illuminate (no problem). I move the stalk down once and things become iteresting, sometimes both headlights pop up into low beam, sometimes one pops up and sometimes nothing happens, apart from plenty of cursing. Finally I move the stalk dowm into high beam and this works every time without fail.

I tried bridging the low beam wires in the fuse box and it cured the problem, however I did not leave it like this for obvious reasons.

Does anyone have some ideas please?
