I would like to know why so many are missing. Why would someone want to keep that of all things? |

Kurt, I was thinking 308. My fault. |

Several months ago, I purchased one of those hand-crank tools for the 308QV. Unfortunately, it was not the "original" model that came with all 308's. It was a more complex piece, similar to what Kurt described. Think it belonged to a 328 or later car. Have no idea if it will work for my car or not, as I've never had to use it...yet. From the pics I've seen, the 308 window-crank tool is a very simple design. |

The 308 is just a bent steel rod with a couple flanges on it where it goes into the motor, and hence can turn it. You could probably do the same thing with a screwdriver and a wrench. I would try the usual: Dennis McCann, TRutlands, Nick Scianna, etc people that come across part cars. I would assume that Ferrari would charge a ridiculous price for something simple, yet rare like this. Surprisingly, my tattered, half missing toolkit actually has it. http://www.nicksforzaferrari.com http://www.allferrariparts.com http://www.trutlands.com |

Magoo, on the 328 its more than that - on the handle is a threaded "sleeve" that you have to screw into the motor housing before you turn the spindle. The spindle is square, about 7 by 7 mm if I remember correctly. On the replacement motors (from Bosch) there is no provision for manual cranking - the newer motors are obviously expected to be more reliable. |

They are simple to make with some rod, a couple of bends and fashion a handle. |

I believe the tool is the same as that used in the 1982 to 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6. Check local junk yards or call Alfa Recombi in california |

Bill: Yes, you should have a window crank. They are hard to find too. Good luck. Ken |

Should there be one of those manual, hand-crank window opener tools in the tool kit for an '85QV? If so, I'm missing one. Where would I find one of these? |
