If he checked the cable, make sure he looked where the rubber gromits are located under the flat body of the car. If I remember correctly I think mine had broke inside the long tube that stretches across the bottom of the car. There were 1 or 2 gromits that went accoss inside the tube, it may be a common breaking point , since they can wear there.

I had my neighbor look at it this morning. He has a 308 and a 550 Barchetta. He said it is fine. It does not bind or anything out of the norm. His only concern was a little slack that I left in the pedal. I will adjust it again later today.

Magoo - I'll pull the cable out this weekend to see if there is any damage that may have worked it's way out.

Joel - I will get one to keep on hand

Matt, You will have to check the entire length of the cable to find where and if it is pulling, fraying, apart. If no signs of damage adjust and try again.

Is replacing the cable hard to do? About how long will take? Is there a step by step somewhere?

I am not sure if it did or not. Where can I get one? Where would it fray?

Matt if this happened all of the sudden be on the look out for a broken clutch cable. This happened to me and it seems the cable breaks a few strands at a time and as they break the cable gets longer. Just for good measures it might be a good idea to get a cable in stock. They are only around $40 and quite easy to put in if you can fit under the steering wheel.

(Well for an 81-308)Jack the back of the car up, personaly I like to lay a blanket on the ground then use the drive up ramps on the back of the car. Either way get the back up in the air. You will need 2 10mm wrenches. Get under the car, and look up where the cable is. You will see an adjustment in the cable. Usualy its above one of the frame bar supports, so its a little hard to notice at first. Once you get too it. You will adjust the long bar. but before it will turn there are nuts on both sides you need to loosen. Then I believe standing in front of the car you will twist it clock wise to tighten.

New Problem.

I noticed today that my clutch had some extra pedal loosness to the top end. When I shut off the engine and listened to it. It sounded as if the cable was loose. I reached under the car and felt the clutch cable. I was able to move it. In fact the cable is no longer sitting on the roller underneath the car. It is that loose. What should I do?
I don't even know where to start.
