On that topic, most Ferrari speedometers are about ten miles an hour fast (or at least many of the older cars, even the 355 and some 360s are fast but not by that much). Think about it, the odometer is adding probably somewhere between 10%-20% more miles than the car is actually running for. This means you come in to get a major service more often, more money for Ferrari. I'm not saying this is how it is, but would you be surprised. |

Gee! who would have ever thought that money could have been an influence! |

got it! I should have figured that it all comes down to who is sponsoring who. Thanks! Kevin |

Kevin, it was discussed here recently... Shell sponsors Ferrari in F-1 now. Years ago it was Agip and that's why my 308 says to use Agip Sint 2000. |

thanks for the feedback Peter. I used it in my 348 Spider and never had a problem...for some reason Ferrari insist that Shell is much better (the price is at least). It's not the money, its the convenience....I have to travel 90 miles to get Shell and 1 mile to get Castrol! Kevin |

I like Syntec, I use it in my daily driver (where it doesn't consume a drop) and will use it in my GT4 after the break-in period. |

Anyone have any experience or guidance to share on changing the oil on an F355 F-1 in a home garage...it is reasonably possible? Also, any recommendation on oil? Is Castrol Syntec 5W-50W as good as Shell Helix? |
