Mike, can you post some pictures of that set-up in your car?

You can make a new mounting plate, or actually have an enclosure made. Z-Box used to make one (that's how my 8" subwoofer is mounted into that kick-panel area in my 308/QV) which actually extended the space by about 2 inches. Of course, once you put the floor mat back down, you'd never notice the difference. Just make sure your subwoofer is shallow enough to fit if you're just going to replace the flat panel cover without adding depth.

Ok good, I will remove them. I have an 8" bass speaker I want to install anyhow. I have some 3/8" aluminum plate from making all these distributors left over. I was thinking of making a new plate that holds an 8" speaker, then I dont have to cut the original plate.

The relays, not the ceramic box's, are my aftermarket Power window relays. (I believe that most people that have had their windows fixed with relays will find them there.)

Aha! Found the 'secret' compartment. Only dust and dirt in mine, as well as the 15 miles of cabling and the alarm box and relay (?).

So where would the 8" subwoofer go? And how do you mount it? Does it come in a box, that could be attached to this panel?

You can remove them but the warning lights will no longer work.

Go ahead and pull on the carpet. There is a metal plate under it that is held in with a couple of screws. It's ok to pull it off. It's not the carpet over the wheel well. It's the part that is inbetween the wheel arch and the center console. It's flat and kinda slanted towards the front of the car.

What am I missing here? I looked for that panel on my 84 308 GTS QV, but really didn't find it. On the right side, there is nothing but carpet (didn't dare to rip that apart) and behind it probably the wheel well. At the front I only found a black board behind the carpet, but no screws. That wall (firewall?) is at the same level as on the driver's side, so I can't imagine, that there is a compartment behind it. Could it be, that on my car things are different? I wish I had that space as I really like the 8" subwoofer idea. Comments?

Can these parts be removed? What would happen? Im talking about the relays, not the amp, 8"speaker, dog hairs, or naked ladys, that others have found, since my panel doesnt seem to be as large as everyone elses.

I second the 8" sub-woofer. Puts the space to good use.

I am not kidding; I found an amp, alarm control box, and the brain for an old analog cell phone along with about 15 miles of wire that didn't leave the factory with the car.

I also found an old straw, a green penny with dog hair stuck to it and a ballpoint pen full of rusty water.

Bummer. I've got the wrong car. On a 'GT4, all you'll find is relays.

Inside my 81-308 has a removable panel on the passanger side close to where someones feet would be sitting in the car. I removed the panel and found a relay and 2 white ceramic boxes with eletric wires attached. What are these things?
