Joseph, your answer on location is perfect. This was what I was looking for. I will pull both sides and look them over. Thank you |

Sorry DMC, after re-reading your most current post, it seems that you are inquiring about the location of the parts in the parts book and not on your particular automobile, as I misunderstood. My apologies. |

The thermocouple is located aft each respective catalytic converter, before the muffler. It is a probe-like looking device that screws into the cat, much like an O2 sensor. It has a metal-sheathed wire running from it to the respective ECU box. Sometimes these ECU's crack over time from their harsh environment. The ECU's are interchangeable from side to side, so you may sway them to help isolate the problem. |

John, you are right about the gas milage but it sure takes the fun out of a drive. I'm a Porsche guy with very little experience about Ferrari's. John I've been trying to locate both the thermocouple and ECU in the parts book with no luck, can you give me a location. Also by chance are you both referring to the cat senser? |

DC: you just got your self a fuel efficient 4-cylinder 355 J/K...I had similar problem on mine, it usually is caused by the faulty sensor. When the power level drops off, the car is actually shutting down half the cylinders where it's sensing the problem. Have your dealer check it out? |

I am dealing with a very intermittent problem on my 96 355 with 10,000 miles. 1)Slow down light comes on. 2)Within 3sec the power level drops off. 3)Within 5sec to 1min light shuts off and power resumes. Engine does not run rough when this problem starts or ends. Oxygen senser? Cat over heat senser? Control Box? Thank you for your help |
