Tifosi, I will find out from the dealer when they have finished looking at it. I will certainly let you know of the answer. Best regards |

Thank you folks for sharing the experience. The 456 was a September 1997 make. In September 1998, its Right Hand Side Headlight motor had to be replaced, under warranty. In May 1999, its Light Hand Side Headlight motor had to be replaced, under warranty again. In July 1999, the Right Hand Side Headlight Motor had to be replaced again, again under warranty. It is now 2002. And something is wrong with the Left Hand Side Headlight. If there are faults with the motors, at least they are evenly balanced. It would perhaps show that the fault is inherent, and not just an accident. |

Ha! Thats interesting..because I just got a 456 in the shop for that problem! (along with other things) The drivers side head light was not going up. Haven't had the chance to check out the problem yet though...I'll let you know what I find. |

what was the diagnosis on the motors that were replaced? I would suspect there might be an electrical issue. These motors should last a long time |

My 456 GTA's left hand side headlight has failed to come up. After a few tries and a lot of glitches, it came up but only in a very painful manner, and thereafter it would not go down again. It is sticking out like a sore thumb. About 2 years ago, both the car's left and right headlight motors had to be replaced in quick succession to each other. So this problem is not new. Is headlight motor failure a common feature of the 456 in particular, or of Ferrari cars in general? Do headlight motrs have an average life of about 2 to 3 years only , after which they would have to be replaced? Help, please. |
