Get the F1. You won't regret it. My wife can drive a stick but she was more comfortable with the F1. I also felt more comfortable when she drove the car. No missed shifts etc. I've had more fun driving the F1 than any other car we have owned

Good advice Willis. Will do. Just wanted as much info prior to seat time as possible because once we drive one, it's going to be 'gotta have it now', and our judgement will be clouded... Glad to hear that your 360 is behaving as it should again. Really interesting thread you started. And great to see a collective effort to identify the problem from the FChat community!
Thanks,

Steve

Stephen,

You could push the "auto" button and allow the car to do all the shifting. It's not going to be nearly as smooth as a real automatic transmission though. I think I've only used this mode twice (first day I got the car and when I answered a cellphone call in downtown traffic).

I think you and your wife should test drive a 355 F1 to check out the system first hand.

Willis, Tako, and All:
Just wanted to ask a basic question about the F1 shifting system: Does it require manually paddle shifting through the gears, or can it be left to select a shift program on it's own like the Pcar Tiptronic system? With the Fcar market soft for the buyers now, I can't resist and am planning on adding a 355B/F1 to our family. I would like to share this toy with my wife and I think the F1 system will be less stressfull on her (and myself too when she's behind the wheel ; ) I've been following the threads on the 360F1 issues and assume that these are not related to the 355F1 system?
Any information would be appreciated.
Safe and happy motoring all!

Steve
