Thanks Phil, I knew Interstate carried the Optima but I couldn't find anyone to install it on a Sunday (the day I discovered my battery was toast) and we were looking forward to going for a ride that day. Sears had it installed in less than 30 minutes and Magoo, believe me, I was watching over the kid like a hawk!! He was smart enough to put a protective cover over the fender and was pretty careful about what he was doing. Guess I was lucky. |

Stu, Most Interstate Battery dealers carry the Optima line as well. |

Stu, What scares the hell out of me is them dropping the battery on one of the front fenders or scratching it with their belt buckle. I took my wifes new Jag in for service and when I got it back it had a big scratch down to the metal on the right front fender. There was some controversy about it when I complained. So I asked to talk to the Tech, whose number was on the ticket. When he came in to the service desk he was wearing a belt that had a large Harley Davidson buckle on it that stuck out a 1/4 of a inch from his belt. Need I say more. They agreed to fix it but it never was right. |

Had the same problem this summer but couldn't find anywhere in my area where I could buy and have installed the Optima. With the awkward placement of the 308 battery, and having a very weak back, I figured it was worth having someone else install it. I ended up going with the top-of-the-line Sears battery. Works fine and didn't have to mess with putting it in.

I took my orange top that I was using in the 308 and threw it in the jeep since I'm not using it obviously in the Fcar. It's actually right for the jeep with the reversed terminals, gonna keep it in it and get a red top for the 308 when it all goes back together. They are great batteries, I don't think I'll ever go back to normal ones again. |

Had the exact same thing happen to my 308QV a month ago. Adopted the same remedy - no more problems. Optima's have serious juice. |
