None of the racing seats bolt in...Universal means get ready to modify till you are ready to cry. That said...if you buy all the mounts and adapters that you possibly can, by mixing and matching and comboing, you'll get a set-up that's the right height and slides properly. |

The ease or difficulty will depend on the dimmensions of the new seat chosen and the abilities of the installer. Custom brakets may need fabrication. The easiest method will be to measure the stock seat track width, then get the race seat manufacurers data on their mounts. If the two dimensions are close, maybe you can simply drill new holes in the race seat mount brackets and you're done. Another area to note is mounting height in the chassis. Some race seat's mounts can't get your posterior low enough in a Ferrari. Check clearance while wearing your helmet, too. This requires careful attention to detail and knowledge of materials strengths. Remember, you are modifying a primary safety feature of your car. Mess this one up and you may not survive a shunt. |

Adam I think you'd need to look carefully at seat dimensions - check the measurements on the guys selling seats and make sure the overall size will be compatible. from there, I find it hard to believe the mounting is much of an issue. Sparco, Momo and Corbeau (3 I've looked at) all sell mounting hardware and have universal fit brackets and sliders. Philip |

I want to put racing seats in the TR, but would like to keep the sliders as I drive on the street a bit further away then on the track. Has anyone done this. Is it an easy removal of the old seats and instalation of the new ones, or does it need modifications and if so how much? |
