Also don't use heater hose. It can collapse too.

check your VW dealer they carry this cloth covered vacuum stuff by the foot.

Gary vH. -- Don't use fuel line -- it doesn't have adequate wall strength to prevent collapse under high vacuum conditions.

The NAPA guy suggested using fuel line hose but I'm going to try to locate something similar to the original stuff .... Gary

I have the braided hose for the brake booster,
looks identical to the original. I think its about
$5-6 per foot.

Gary,
I was able to source the proper brake booster hose from GT Car Parts in AZ. Be advised, this is a very stiff hose and is difficult to slide over the male fittings.

Buy the 50' and then sell what you don't use on ebay.

There have been several threads regarding the vacuum hoses on the 308s. I am replacing the coolant hoses and thought I would replace the 1/2"id vacuum hose while the left fuel tank is out. It seems no one carries this braided hose and the NAPA guy has a 1/2" id hose that looks good except I have to buy the whole 50'.

Any ideas ???.......... Gary
