My 308 windows are abysmally slow. I took them apart, lubed everything, cleaned the rails ... no improvement. The motors seem strong .. got my finger caught in one to prove it. The local F dealer says they do a complete job .. new everything .... and often there's only very limited improvement. Next step is to try the electrical contacts. After that .. I have two spare 3 HP pool motors!!!! |

I have the same problem with my windows. I took appart the door and removed the whole thing. How do you get the back off of the motor? I took it off of the regulator just fine, but I can't seem to get the back off of it. The little plate the covers the gears seems to be stamped on there. After I put everything back together the stupid thing still didn't work right and was going up even slower. As a matter of fact the clip that holds the cable to the lever to open the door busted on me. I had to get a new one. But I used one from an Audi. It was a little big thicker and it looked to be made of better material. While I was picking up the clip I talked to the mechanic at the dealer and he seems to think that it is the regulator that is bad and not the motor. Are there any after market assemblies that can be used, cause I don't wanna spend the money on another Ferrari regulator for the wondow, that is just going to go bad in a couple of years anyway. |

I did put new switches in, mainly because the old ones were sticky and looked like crap. Looks like I'm disassembling and lubing this weekend. I appreciate your help kind sirs! Scotty |

I'd use contact cleaner on the switch itself and the male/female plug ins before messing with the motor. I'd also go so far as to attach 12V directly to the wire that goes to the motor. That way you can eliminate the door mechanism if the window goes up and down as it should. |

Are you trying to say that a 348 has the same crappy windows as a 308/328? If so, search the archives. Disassemble motor gearbox and re-lube, and check EVERY electrical connection and clean as necessary. |

I've seen a few wiring/contact problems that were the cause of the slow windows on the ones I've repaired. There is a large harness plug on each door, the ground wires lose contact inside the plug or actually break off in one or the other sides of the plug. Pull back the rubber boots to expose all the wires. Slow motors are almost always a bad/loss of ground. |

"Johnny 5- NO Disassemble" Disassemble make dead, reassemble bring new life. Clean, regrease, reassemble, clean switch contacts. |

They were both a bit slow when I got the car, but they have been down all summer, and the driver's side has gotten worse. Jeez, I was hoping I wouldn't have to replace the motors. Love hurts... Thanks Michael. |

If this happened to both windows at the same time -- I would suspect something in common to both like a bad relay or fuse. I do not know how the 348 is set up, so check to see what they have in common first. Now, if they went bad at different times -- then most likely bad motors. Hope this helps some.

The passenger side is slow, but the drivers side is even slower and sometimes needs some help on the way up. Any way to fix this? I priced new motors and uhh... well, you know. I appreciate your help my Ferrari friends! Scotty |
