Yours work only after three times?

Geez, mine take a good 5 or 6 pumps to get them to spit on my window. I live with mine.

In order to get some water on my windows I have to pull on the lever about three times. The motor appears to be ok, but it seems, that the water flows back to the tank if not used.

Is that normal? Do I need to replace the motor or add a valve or just live with it?
