Just got mine from ebay. They were in perfect condition.

My only question is: Should I paint them or not?

Okay, sorry Matt, try Autosport in Seattle, WA. I bought some there a couple years ago...Sorry, I am out of town and on a 24bps dial up, so no google searches for me... :-)

Sorry Matt for beating you on ebay. I needed nice mirrors to replace my broken square ones (electric motors don't work anymore, see my thread). If it turns out, that the Vitalonis won't fit the holes of my square ones, you could have them. I'll let you know, once I get them.

Are these Vitaloni California mirrors the stock mirrors on the 308s, or a lookalike? Mine are Vitaloni, but they have a bellows-style stalk, and I'm pretty sure they are aftermarket. I'd prefer to go with something more original if I can.

I bought one from www.europaspares.com. (look under trim, exterior mirrors. Arrived very quickly, reasonable price.

The base has changed but the new mirror will fit into your old base no problem.

Does anyone have any they would like to sell?

I lost the ebay ones. I called every VW place on the planet, all out of stock with no firm arrival dates. I can't seem to find these damn things.

Vitoloni "california" mirrors are still being manufactured and available from many on-line sources. Try doing a "google" search...They retail for around $30 each. Pegasus Racing sells them.....

Note, they did change the baseplate slightly; I think it now runs 180 degrees opposite of the original 70's design. No big deal, I just reused the bases and installed the new mirror to them.

Matt,
If you can't come up w/a replacement, I'll endevor
to replace the broken part. I'll need all the bits & pieces in order to make a mold. I'd have
to see the part or photos before I could give
you a price.

Might take a while as I've got a backlog right now.

Not sure how big of a hurry you are to find the mirror(s), but for what it's worth there are a pair of them for sale on eBay at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1873368992

Auction ends Nov. 30

Not even sure if these would pass as genuine for a concours event.

I broke my mirror trying to grap my car which rolled out of the garage and onto the street. I am doing the FCA drive tomorrow and I need a replacement. Does anyone know in the So Cal area know where is can get one that is in stock?
