I don't have my spare tire in the 308 and use this area for some weekend luggage (golf clubs in the rear trunk) and would like to remove the block of metal that the spare tire bolts to. Has anyone done this and how difficult is it. I see that it is welded to the sheetmetal and from underneath to the cross member. If I just grind the weld I assume that it would just pop off. Is this true? I want to fill the void and grind flush then repaint. Thanks |
