Thanks Matt. I'll check on the sending unit. |

Andreas: Unless your new tires are considerably smaller, there probably won't be a lot of error. Tires small enough to make a large error will give iffy ground clearance. Oversize tires? Probably will correct the 'generous' speedo calibration these cars are known for. My slightly oversize rears have given me a very accurate speedo. |

Ben, your point is well taken, but that is really not my concern. With the little driving I do, one might accuse me of not doing enough maitenance driving. Anyway, the thing about wrong speeds due to tire size does bother me (not so much the actual mileage), so if it could be made adjustable within limits, that'd be a great feature. |

Well actualy, if the speedo works on pulses also, I could make an adjustable unit for the speedo, it would be great for saving unwanted miles if used in the wrong hands... Hans is correct the tach adapter is a divider, but also its an amplifer so you dont have to buy the MSD tach amplifier to make your tach read correctly.

Andreas: I'll field this one for Ben. He's built a simple frequency divider. Cuts the frequency in half, won't do subtle frequency adjustments. |

Ron, Your sending unit is bad. It feeds off electrial impulses from the diff. It is a $100 from http://www.allferrariparts.com/parts_list.cfm Takes 20 minutes to replace. Remove the passenger wheel and well and remove the old one from the diff |

Any chance this device could 'recalibrate' the speedo if the tire size gets changed (say put 17" wheels on instead of 16")? |

What exactly does this device do? Is it only for transmitting the proper signal to the Tach? My '80 308 speedo is intermittent. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it reads zero, and sometimes it stays stuck at a speed. I've heard the speedo operates from an electrical signal, vs a mechanical cable. The tach seems to be okay. |

Thanks! I have been meaning to contact you about this. Ive been so busy with work that Ive had no time to mess with the 308, but that changes starting tomorrow. Good timing, let me know if there are any delays in getting them out. BTW: any progress on a more permanent & better looking method of mounting the new distributor to the old one? Terry Springer

This is the new tach adapter I invented. Took me about 3 months to design it. This tach adapter will work alone. NO other units are needed, its works 100% on its own. I tested it with MSD, and several other coils. Contains special circuits for cleaning the input signal, then it performs the 1/2 signal splitting, and after that it amplifies the signal so that the Ferrari Tach will work correctly. These units are Epoxied and water proof. They contain an LED inside to know when the unit is powered. I can offer then in several different colors. The transparency was done so you can see the LED inside, and see the instuctions which are epoxied on the other side.
For those of you who bought the Millermon Conversion this unit will be sent first thing next week. Anyone else who needs one can e-mail me. |
