Mike, Whew ,, ,,, that rotor must have been on a very long time. I know that you can get new carbon brushes for the caps pretty cheep. $10.00 ea (Well ,, ,,relatively cheep as Ferrari parts go.) |

Thanks Tom. I had heard about the 3mm screw but mine doesn't have one. I gritted my teeth and prised off with a screw driver. Seems it was push on after all. The interesting thing is the spark had punched a hole through the rotor shorting the entire front bank. This may be a cause of several chatters reporting intermitent loss of power. |

If you have the blue/green one, e.i. a 2-valve 308, first you must remove the 3mm screw. These units were put on with Loctite from the factory and sometimes are a bear to remove without breaking them. Once the screw is out, gently pry the rotor off the shaft using two prying devices(usually long screwdrivers). Pry on the base of the rotor. Prying anywhere else will result in a broken rotor. |

How do I remove the distributor rotors on a 308 Mondial? Tried pulling by hand but they wont budge. Threaded perhaps? |
